PRIVACY & PARTICIPATION / UPDATED 10 OCTOBER 2026

Understanding begins
with trust.

This notice describes the development edition of Machiavelli Assessments. Contact the service at Admin@machiavelliassessments.com for privacy questions.

Information used to provide the service

A purchasing account provides an email address for sign-in. We store its account identifier, order quantities, framework choices, order status, and timestamps. For an assessment, we store a participant’s chosen report name, consent timestamp, answers, scores, progress, and completion time. A preferred name is sufficient; do not enter health information, contact details, or other sensitive information into the report-name field.

Payment processing is not enabled. Preview orders are not purchases, no payment details are collected, and displayed DISC pricing is not a charge. Basic operational records support security, quotas, and diagnosis of technical failures.

Who receives a report

The participant and the purchasing account can access the completed report. This sharing is explained before participation and requires the participant’s affirmative consent. Purchasers can see their own invitation status, chosen participant names, and completed reports. They cannot retrieve raw answers through the purchaser’s data export. The platform administrator sees order and usage metadata; authorized operators and infrastructure providers may have technical access where necessary to operate and secure the service.

A voluntary choice

The development edition is intended for adults aged 18 and over. You can decline an invitation, stop before completion, or ask the person who invited you why the assessment was requested and how they intend to use the report. Do not participate under a misleading promise that these tools determine employability, psychological health, integrity, or moral worth. These original development editions are for voluntary reflection and must not determine consequential outcomes.

Your link and browser session

An unused invitation can be claimed by its holder, so share it only with the intended participant. Once claimed, answers and the participant report require the protected session in that browser. The invitation alone no longer provides access to personal responses. Progress is saved when you select Next, Back, or Save for later. Selecting a response alone does not save it; unsaved changes can be lost. Invitation and participant-session access expire after 30 days. A lost or cleared browser session cannot be recovered by simply forwarding the link.

Exports and deletion

The purchaser’s dashboard provides an account-data export and controls to delete assessment data. A participant can export their own responses or request deletion through the active assessment session. Deletion removes the stored participant name, answers, scores, and participant session; the remaining order and usage metadata records that an assessment existed. It cannot recall a PDF that a participant or purchaser already downloaded. If your session is unavailable, contact the service; identity and authority may need to be verified before a data request can be completed.

Retention

Answers, scores, the chosen report name, and the data used to generate a completed report are retained for one year (365 days) after completion, unless deleted earlier. For an incomplete assessment, the period runs from when participation started. Daily database maintenance removes this personal content after that period. The daily schedule and interruptions to processing can delay removal. Invitation and participant-session access still expire after 30 days; expired session records are removed by daily maintenance. The purchasing account can access a retained completed report through its dashboard until the report data is deleted. Audit events are eligible for removal after 365 days under the same maintenance schedule. Minimal purchasing-account, order, and quota records remain while the account is active to operate the service and prevent reuse of preview allowances. Contact us for account closure and deletion requests. Provider backups and security logs can follow their own retention periods; deletion from the live application does not promise immediate erasure from every backup.

Hosting, cookies, and external services

The production application uses Netlify for hosting, Supabase for authentication and its private database, and GoDaddy email for the business contact mailbox. GitHub holds the private source repository, not participant response records. Processing may take place outside your country depending on the configured infrastructure. Essential cookies maintain sign-in and participant sessions. Fonts are hosted with the application. We do not add advertising pixels, sell assessment responses, or send them to a generative AI service to produce reports.

Interpretation is also a privacy responsibility

Reports summarize self-reported patterns and contain conditional prompts. Avoid distributing a report more widely than agreed, making public judgments about someone from their scores, or using a developmental label as a diagnosis. The purchaser is responsible for its own handling of exported reports and for explaining any further use to the participant.
